The story of Minter’s grandfather, after whom he was named, was a long-held mystery until a fortuitous telephone call unleashed a string of events that led to the discovery of the extraordinary story of a long lost ring, the secrets that it held and the pains hidden by the family. A ring of honour and love, it circled the world several times, changed hands multiple times, was lost, found and then stolen and forgotten, only to resurface many decades later. It’s a unique story. Yet in a parallel universe, by chance a very similar and touching story was unearthed in Japan. And then again in California. After the projection of the ½-hour award-winning documentary film, The Last Ring Home, the author will talk about the other stories that were uncovered, and the multiple business and cultural lessons learned from his forays into Japan as CEO of Redken Worldwide.
