We are cogitoworks Ltd, a Japanese film production/distribution company that just
started to release our own produced film to the UK.
Our films could be seen as ‘the films showing in JAPAN now’.
We would like to deliver 2 to 3 films on a consistent yearly basis to the UK from now
on.
This very first time we would like to deliver ‘almost people’, The story of four siblings
who lack some of their emotions.
Overview:
Hikaru, the eldest brother, who feels no ‘joy,’ listens to the words people exchange in search of ‘words of joy’.
The eldest sister, Himiko, is conflicted by her lack of anger and throws herself into the revolution.
The second brother, Taiyo, who does not understand what ‘joy’ is, repeatedly crosses paths with his girlfriend.
Hanako, the second sister who has no feeling of ‘loneliness’, resonates with her homeroom teacher, Fujimaki, and makes an unexpected decision.
The directors are a unique quartet of Japanese directors: Satoko Yokohama, Gakuryu Ishii, Takuto Kato, and Fumio Moriya.
The film is a small-scale art house film and will be released simultaneously worldwide in London, New York, Toronto, and throughout Japan.
This ‘almost people’ captured some moments of our daily life and those things are existing around the corner all over the world.
We hope you all enjoy and feel some sort of humanness that you will have.
