To celebrate World Sake Day, observed on 1 October each year, Japan House London invites guests to drop into The Shop and taste up to nine different varieties of sake.
World Sake Day, or Nihonshu no Hi, started in 1978 as a day to mark the start of the new sake brewing year – celebrating everyone in the industry from rice farmers to brewery workers. It has now become a global celebration and an occasion to raise a toast with sake together.
The tasting experience features finalists from the 2023 International Wine Challenge Sake Competition, the largest sake competition worldwide. Leading UK sake experts will be on hand to explain the story behind each sake, some of which are not yet readily available in the UK.
Japan House London operates a Challenge 25 policy, so guests who look under 25 may be asked to show proof of age. Japan House London reserves the right to refuse to serve alcohol to guests. Please drink responsibly. Visit drinkaware.co.uk for more information.
This experience is offered in partnership with Sake Samurai UK.
