TOKYO PARK™ proudly presents its third Japanese group exhibition: TEXTURES.
Its most recent Curation will explore the world of Tridimensionality and Expressionism, the dichotomy/harmony of Visual and Tactile texture, through a Japanese lens. Such artistic narrative, supported by Director and Curator of TOKYO PARK Martim Barroso, will showcase a diverse collection of paintings and ceramics recently made by a select group of Young and Established Artists: Uchiumi Satoshi, Momo, Keisuke Azuma, U-ku, Yonaka Muni, Syu Kanesawa, Baku Kiyokawa, Mio Hara and CYON.
Each participating artist follows contrasting Artistic Experiences and Iconography, yet all touch upon the theme of TEXTURES, in all its endless forms and expressions: Uchiumi Satoshi creates Abstract Oil compositions that resemble both floral and rugged mineral properties; Momo is inspired by Aboriginal Pointillism and explores both Figurative and Abstract subjects, Keisuke Azuma is a New Future Awards winner specialised in blurred oil painting; based on her current emotions, U-ku blends and paints her Abstract watercolours compositions, Yonaka Muni creates expressive and layered portraits of animated schoolgirls; Syu Kanesawa creates blue dream-like compositions with magical characters; Baku Kiyokawa developed a new technique named Bakugan, painting distorted, marbled grey-scale compositions in the reverse of acrylic sheets; Mio Hara is a young artist focused on tactile wave patterns; and CYON draws female figures embraced by emotional paint splatters and brushwork.
The new project will be kindly hosted at The Hyde Gallery in Chiswick, London. TOKYO PARK invites everyone to visit and witness the craft and beauty of Japanese Texture and Sentimentalism in Art: “The theme offers a wide variety of artistic expression and personality. A one-of-a-kind opportunity to present a more concise example of the current Japanese contemporary art scene to the British and European Audience.
