The popularity of sake, Japan’s national beverage, is growing by leaps and bounds every year. This amazing fermented drink has over a thousand years of history and craftsmanship behind it, with styles and flavour profiles as complex and nuanced as any wine or beer and a comparable alcohol percentage to wine at around 14-17%.
Join us at West London Wine School for an evening Introduction to Sake Tasting, and start your journey of sake discovery. In this two hour lecture and tutored tasting we will cover all the basics of sake’s ingredients, production, premium classifications, proper service and storage and how to pair with foods. During the class you will taste six different premium styles of sake across a wide range of styles, accompanied by cheese and nibbles to enhance flavours and introduce sake and food pairing concepts.
