Curious about the different varietals of of rice used to make premium Japanese sake? Join us at West London Wine School for the final session in our 3-part sake varietal series to learn all about Gohyakumangoku, the famous sake rice of snowy Niigata prefecture. The name may be a mouthful to say, but this rice is renowned for making light, crisp, dry sake that pairs perfectly with food and features heavily in the sake from northern and eastern Japan. We will experience the full range of what this versatile and elegant rice is capable of in the hands of talented sake brewers.

This class is suitable for all sake knowledge levels. Guests can book in for just a single session in the series as a standalone class, or join for the full three-week series. During the session you will taste six premium sake made using gohyakumangoku rice from across a range of styles, accompanied by fine cheeses and Japanese-inspired nibbles.
