The Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 1 Award in Sake  is the ideal starting point for anyone interested in learning more about Japan’s  national beverage. During this one-day course you will learn how to taste sake  using the WSET method and practice your new skills on seven delicious sake  examples served at a variety of different temperatures. We will cover all the  basics of sake production, premium sake categories, storage and service, and  learn how to recognize the most important Japanese words on sake labels. The  day finishes with a 30-question multiple choice exam - everything you need to  know will be taught on the day, not to worry. Following successful completion  of the course you will receive a lovely certificate and pin to recognize your  new sake qualification!
      This is an enjoyable, relaxed and interactive course that  provides the perfect introduction to Japan’s most famous beverage. After completing  this course you will be able to order sake in a restaurant with confidence, effectively  describe the styles you enjoy drinking to help discover new favourite sake  styles, and be able to pair sake with a wide variety of foods.
About the Instructor and School:
      Dr. Sarah Stewart teaches on sake, wine and cheese at West  London Wine School. She has extensive sake and wine qualifications, and also  volunteers as the Membership & Events Officer for the British Sake  Association. She lived in Japan for two years and returns annually to continue  her beverage studies there. She has also trained in Urasenke chado, “The Way of  Tea”, for the past 17 years, giving her hands-on experience in traditional  Japanese methods of service and hospitality and a deep understanding of Japan.
