Green Park Youth Concert Series No. 14 - Violinist Shimizu Kumi

On Friday 15 March, Ambassador and Madame Hayashi hosted the 14th Green Park Youth Concert at the Embassy featuring Shimizu Kumi, a talented young Japanese violinist.

She studied at the Royal Academy of Music and is currently appointed as Associate Concertmistress of the Royal Danish Orchestra. In this concert, she performed a selection of pieces from her wide-ranging repertoire, which encompasses works from Baroque to contemporary. They included pieces by the late AKUTAGAWA Yasushi as well as other famous composers including Mozart and R.Strauss.

The concert was attended by about 70 guests, who were treated to a memorable and inspiring performance.

*The Green Park Youth Concert is a concert series organised by the Embassy of Japan in the UK to provide a platform for young Japanese musicians such as those who are undertaking their studies at renowned conservatoires across the UK and Europe.
