Produced and directed by a Japanese theatre-maker Hana Tamaru and an Italian theatre-maker Arianna Folini, Don’t Get Me Wrong is a new play that sheds a light on the experiences of immigrants and international residents in the UK.
It is a fun, heart-warming play with original music, exploring how we process languages and acknowledge cultural heritage, aiming to reflect on the impact this has on shaping who we are and the challenges we encounter when living in a foreign country.
-Brief of the play-
Sitting in a room of a tiny shared flat in London, five girls, each with a different nation to call home, share with one another their stories of life in the UK. They explore the highs, lows, struggles and hilarities of living in another country, and the need to rediscover one’s identity in an unfamiliar world…
