The conference will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the JGS, with all our past achievements, and look at how we can take the society into the future.

The conference theme is ‘Adaptation’ covering the challenges including climate change, new pests and diseases, and how we need to change to cope with these challenges.

Our keynote speaker is: Christian Tagsold

In our afternoon session we have a panel discussion with a Q&A addressing:

  • Climate change
  • Plant pests and diseases
  • Changing work conditions, fewer staff and greater reliance on volunteers.

Panel members

  • Kevin Martin, Head of Tree Collections, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew
  • Dr Hayley Jones, Senior Entomologist, RHS Wisley
  • Dan Ryan, Head Gardener, Gatton Park

We do hope that you will be able to join us.
