Haru no En: A Celebration of Spring Ikebana Display

Japan House London bursts into bloom with four days of seasonal ikebana, Japanese flower design, presented in collaboration with Ikebana International London Chapter.

Ikebana, often translated as ‘giving life to flowers’ and also known as kadō (lit. ‘the way of flowers’), originated over 550 years ago in Japan and has since evolved into numerous schools each with their own distinctive philosophy and style.

In this celebration of the coming of spring (haru no en), guests can discover the diversity of contemporary ikebana while exploring around 20 floral arrangements displayed throughout Japan House created by practitioners from various ikebana schools.

Exhibiting schools include Ichiyo, Ikenobō, Nippon Kadō Koryū, Ohara School of Ikebana, Ryūsei-ha and Sōgetsu School.
