Women in Sake: Tasting Event at JÖRO in Sheffield

Join us on Wednesday 15th May at JÖRO in Sheffield for a celebration of women in sake. Visiting sake educator and International Wine Challenge judge Sarah Stewart will guide guests through a diverse range of specially selected premium sake from some of Japan’s top female-led breweries and share the fascinating story of the woman behind each bottle. While sake is currently a male-dominated industry in Japan, women were integral in sake production from its ancient beginnings in the 8th century. Following years of exclusion from hands-on sake making between the 1500-1900s, modern times have finally seen women re-entering the brewing industry and quickly racking up accolades for their brews. Come hear these inspirational tales from past and present, and get a glimpse into the future of women in sake with us.
Ticket price also gives you access to 20% discount on all sake purchased in JÖRO SHOP. Nibbles will be provided to accompany the sakes, however we are unable to accommodate for any dietary requirements for this event. Each sitting is allocated up to 1.5 hours for the experience, and strictly limited to 14 people to facilitate a suitably intimate experience and ample opportunity for questions.
Please note that tickets are non-refundable after the point of purchase.
