Godzilla Conquers Japan House London

Godzilla is invading Japan House London this autumn! A two-metre tall statute of the iconic monster is on display in the Shop, as part of our event series celebrating the 70th anniversary of the 1954 film Godzilla.

Originally created as a giant, destructive creature rampaging around post-war Japan, Godzilla has since become a beloved cinematic legend starring in 37 Japanese and American films. This statue captures its fearsome presence and dynamic posing, created using the original moulds from producers Toho’s ‘Heisei’ series of films in the franchise (1984-1995). One of only three existing Godzilla statues in the ‘Heisei-style’, this statue has stomped around the world since 2019 and recently conquered the Science Museum and MCM Comic Con in London.

Photos up close with Godzilla in Japan House London are encouraged – if sharing on social media you can tag us @japanhouseldn.

Posters featuring original artwork from the early Godzilla films are also on display in the Shop, along with merchandise available to buy.
