Hiro Kiyokawa has been involved in the restoration of cultural properties for 50 years and is one of the few artisans in Japan using Edo-period kintsugi techniques.

During his stay in UK for his first exhibition in UK at White Conduit Projects, he will be running seven Kintsugi experience workshops for small groups. Participants will be able to experience the highlights of the kintsugi process, the decoration with gold powder by using all traditional Japanese tools and materials.

The fee £180 includes use of Japanese tools, materials and purist gold powder, the Edo-period sobachoco-cup used for kintsugi will be yours to keep. It's a wonderful way to appreciate the philosophy of embracing imperfections and creating something beautiful from brokenness.
