Looks Delicious! Gallery Tour with Iwasaki Tsuyoshi

Take a journey through the world of Japanese food replicas in a guided tour of the exhibition Looks Delicious! Exploring Japan’s food replica culture, on its opening day.

Known in Japan as shokuhin sanpuru, food replicas are irresistibly intriguing, hyper-realistic and painstakingly handcrafted. They are often displayed outside restaurants to represent what may be eaten inside.

In this guided tour, Japan House London Programming Director Simon Wright is joined by special guest Iwasaki Tsuyoshi, president of leading food replica company Iwasaki Co., Ltd. (Tokyo). The tour will explore the rich legacy of food replicas across Japan, reflecting the country’s diverse cuisine and regional food culture.

The event starts at 18:00 and lasts for about 45 minutes.

The exhibition Looks Delicious! Exploring Japan’s food replica culture is on display in the Gallery at Japan House London from 2 October until 16 February 2025.

Please note that filming and photography may take place at this event. Photos and footage of the event may then be used to promote Japan House London, helping more people to discover what we offer. If you have any concerns, please contact us online or contact a member of the team on site.
