The Oku Memorial Trophy has been held in memory of Ambassador Katsuhiko Oku, who was tragically killed in Iraq in 2003, every weekend close to the anniversary since 2004. This year will be the 21st time the Cup has been held. The Japanese team ‘London Japanese’, of which Ambassador Oku was also a member and the 'Kew Occasionals", a team made up of Oxford University rugby players, and others will also take part in the tournament.
