Japan Fun Day at Cardiff Central Library - Free Half-Term Cultural Event

Free Japanese cultural activities for young people and their friends and families! 

Join The Japan Society and Cardiff Central Library this half-term holiday for some fun Japanese cultural activities.

•  Japanese crafts and origami
•  Traditional games & toys 
•  Write your name in Japanese
•  Design your own ema (wishing board)
•  Calligraphy & Koto (music) Workshop for children and teenagers. Booking required (see below)

Workshops for Children and Teenagers

Calligraphy
A fun Japanese calligraphy session where you can learn to write your name and other words in Japanese! Absolute beginners welcome!

Places limited, so please book to avoid disappointment! Suitable for ages 8 to 18. 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

• 11.00am to 12.00pm – details and tickets
• 2.00pm to 2.50pm – details and tickets


Koto (traditional Japanese string instrument)

An informal and interactive session where you can learn and experience playing the koto, a traditional Japanese string instrument!

Places limited, so please book to avoid disappointment! Suitable for ages 6 to 18. 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
