Japan Day 2025 – Experience Japanese Culture in One Day!
Organised by the Japan Society at the University of Sheffield, Japan Day is a one-day event where you can fully immerse yourself in Japanese culture.
Workshops & Activities
Try your hand at flower arranging, calligraphy, and taiko drumming, or explore new experiences like matcha tea making, aikido demonstrations, origami, traditional Japanese spinning tops (koma), and ring toss.
Food Vendors
Enjoy authentic sushi, flavourful Japanese curry, crispy gyoza, and beautifully crafted fruit candy.
Shopping & Crafts
Discover and purchase beautiful hair accessories and jewellery that symbolize the elegance of Japan, along with other unique Japanese crafts and souvenirs.
Live Performances
Be captivated by Enka singing, mesmerizing Koto music, and many more traditional and modern performances throughout the day.

The History of Japan Day
Japan Day first began in 2011 as a fundraising event in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake. Over the years, it has grown into the biggest annual event hosted by the Japan Society, bringing people together to celebrate and experience Japanese culture.
Come and enjoy a day filled with exciting activities, delicious food, beautiful crafts, and incredible performances!
