Shoulderpads, a theatre company from Japan, presents a striking and imaginative performance at the Edinburgh Fringe.
This production creates “the greatest imagination with the smallest costumes.” Though the costumes are bold and revealing, this is not a comedy show.
The piece is based on the Japanese literary classic Night on the Galactic Railroad, which explores the universal theme of a friend’s death.
It is a musical retelling of the story, expressed through original songs and performance.
Since its opening, the show has continued to sell out, and on its second day received a ★★★★★ review from British Theatre Guide.
This is Shoulderpads’ debut appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe, and the show has already become a major talking point.
