From August 2nd to 3rd, 2025, Doujincon is bringing the creative worlds of independent manga and doujinshi to London. The event will see artists from across the UK, Japan and other parts of the world come together to buy, sell and showcase their latest work amongst the passionate and vibrant local anime and comic community.

A doujinshi, meaning ‘self-published’ in Japanese is a self-made piece of creative work produced by a group of like-minded hobbyists. In Japan, doujin sokubaikai or doujin Conventions like Comiket and COMITIA are some of the most anticipated pop culture events of the year allowing aspiring artists, writers and fans to come together to sell a range of comics, artwork, music and video games. Many of Japan’s biggest franchises including Fate/Stay Night, Touhou, Vtubers and mobile games originated as doujin and their creators are among the leaders figures in the Japanese media industry.

Taking place at the Novotel London West located in Hammersmith, Doujincon hopes to bring this cultural touchstone to Britain. Run by doujin lovers, for doujin lovers, the event will create a space for independent artists, authors and enthusiasts can share their creations, whether fan works based on popular anime or films or original creations all their own.
