YOKIMONO (meaning ‘good things’ in Japanese) JAPANESE CHRISTMAS MARKET is a Japan-themed market and cultural event in East London. (FREE ENTRY) 

Traders will be offering; authentic Japanese food & sweets (such as okonomiyaki, sushi, takoyaki, fruit-mochi, tea, wagashi and matcha ice cream) , vintage kimono, ukiyoe & illustrations, books, clothing, jewellery and much more – all made in Japan, or produced by Japanese artists in London. 

 As well as a wide variety of market stalls, there will be live performances from Japanese musicians such as, Electric Shamisen music, ENKA and KAYOKYOKU (Japanese folk songs and J-POP), and demonstrations of FUROSHIKI  (fabric wrapping) and Japanese film screenings.

 Fun and friendly workshops of FRUIT MOCHI making, , SHIMENAWA (Japanese Traditional Style Wreath) making workshop will be also available.

 Visitors can explore traditional and contemporary Japanese food and culture in Hackney.
