On 16 February, the Embassy hosted the 16th Green Park Youth Concert, showcasing the talents of two young Japanese vocalists, Mr Riku Matsubara (tenor) and Ms Misaki Takahashi (soprano). This concert series has long provided a platform for emerging Japanese musicians, such as those undertaking their studies at renowned conservatoires.

Both vocalists graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, after which Mr Matsubara continued his study at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Now active on the international stage, they performed Japanese works featuring lyrics by Takashi Yanase, as well as works from Handel's oratorio Messiah and operas by Verdi, among others. Approximately 100 guests attended the concert and listened intently to the expressive performance, which included duets, and thoroughly enjoyed the event.
