Explore the cultures of Japan this half term with a series of free family-friendly activity workshops at Japan House London. Each session invites participants to learn about Japan while getting creative, with hands-on activities including origami (paper-folding), and making paper Hina dolls (Hina ningyō ).
Create your own Hina dolls (Hina ningyō )
Hina dolls (Hina ningyō) are displayed in homes in Japan with daughters on the third day of the third month each year to celebrate Girls’ Day. Often given as gifts, the dolls symbolize wishes for health, happiness and prosperity. In this workshop, participants can create their own paper Hina doll display in anticipation of Girls’ Day in March, while learning about the colourful kimono worn by the dolls.
