The Centre for Japanese Studies at the University of East Anglia warmly invites participants to attend the Interdisciplinary Japanese Studies Graduate Conference: The Future of Japanese Studies, to be held in hybrid format on Friday, 6 March 2026 (9:00–17:15) at UEA (New Science Building 0.01) and online.
Supported by the Toshiba International Foundation, this event provides an opportunity for scholars and students to reflect on emerging research agendas, interdisciplinary approaches, and the changing global and institutional contexts shaping Japanese Studies today.

We particularly welcome participation from undergraduate students considering MA study, MA students, PhD candidates, and early-career researchers.
The conference will be held in hybrid format. Online participation is available to all registrants. A limited number of in-person places are also available at UEA.
