Gyokubai Studio in Guenrsey provides Japanese Calligraphy Workshop every month to introduce the beauty and fun of Japanese Calligraphy and also having mindful time together.

We are hosting a very first “Japanese Tea and Calligraphy Evening” at Tokkuri which is Guernsey’s one and only Japanese Sake bar – a calm and mindful evening introducing traditional Japanese tea culture and Japanese calligraphy to the local community and visitors. We will have special tea ceremony teacher as our guest aho will demonstrate authentic Japanese tea ceremony and prepare matcha tea for guests. Participants will also experience Japanese calligraphy in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

The event is inspired by the Japanese philosophy of “Ichigo Ichie(一期一会)”, meaning “treasuring each once-in-a-lifetime encounter”
