Courtyard garden within Ochayma Shima, a geisha house in Kanazawa
Seeking inspiration and practical advice on how to create a “piece of Japan” within your own garden.
On Saturday morning Yoko Kawaguchi will talk about the general history of smaller-sized gardens in Japan, bringing us right up to date with examples of shitsunai-teien and sokutei. The “How would I do it” session in the afternoon will include contributions from experienced garden designers based in the UK: Ai Hishii, Masa Taniguchi and Howard Healey.
The Sunday morning programme offers three hands-on workshops: Garden Design or Ikebana or Bonsai.
