The Shape of Light is a group exhibition bringing together three Japanese artists working across Nihonga painting, crystalline ceramics and contemporary oil painting.
Although each artist uses a different medium, their practices are united by a shared sensitivity to light, atmosphere, landscape and the natural world. The exhibition explores how light can shape colour, memory and material, revealing its role not only as illumination but also as an artistic medium.
Presented at The Ice House in Holland Park, London, The Shape of Light offers visitors an opportunity to experience three distinctive approaches to contemporary Japanese art through works that reflect both traditional techniques and contemporary artistic expression.
