The Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 1 Award in Sake is the ideal starting point for anyone interested in learning more about Japan’s national beverage. During this entertaining and informative one-day course you will learn how to taste sake using the WSET method and practice your new skills on eight delicious sake examples served at a variety of different temperatures, alongside a sake and food pairing exercise. We will cover all the basics of sake production, premium sake categories, storage and service, and learn how to recognize the most important Japanese words on sake labels. The day finishes with a 30-question multiple choice exam – not to worry though, everything you need to know will be taught on the day and we have a 100% pass rate with most students earning Distinction! Following successful completion of the course you will receive a lovely digital certificate and pin to acknowledge your new sake qualification.
This is an enjoyable, relaxed and interactive day out that provides the perfect introduction to Japan’s most famous beverage. After completing this course you will be able to order sake in a restaurant with confidence, effectively describe the styles you enjoy drinking to help discover new favourite sake styles, and be able to pair sake with a wide variety of foods.
