This is UK-Japan Music Society’s Spring Recital with UK-Japan Choir and UK-Japan Consort performing; first part is Fauré Requiem which is dedicated to Tohoku and victims & sufferers of all natural disasters and human conflicts in the world. Second part is to mark the important time in Japan this year – Celebration of New Era of Japan, with organ improvisation by Gregory, and music of Bach; choral music by Handel and Takechi.
It is directed by Jonathan Gregory.
*Celebrating two Emperors of Japan – Japanese National Anthem is sung, followed by organ improvisation; UK National Anthem is sung, followed by Percy Whitlock’s Paen.
