Nishinoseki sake selection at Japan House

Nishinoseki Classic | 720ml
Type: Junmai
Rice: Hattan Nishiki and Hinohikari
Polishing Ratio: 60% SMV: -1 ABV: 15%
Tasting Notes: This is a signature sake from the Nishinoseki brand. Its rich umami sweetness and refreshing tartness fits in with the style of sake associated with the Kyushu region. With a deep, earthy taste this sake pairs nicely with rich food.

Nishinoseki Cube | 300ml
Type: Honjozo / Undiluted
Rice: Hattan Nishiki
Polishing Ratio: 60% SMV: ±0 ABV: 17%
Tasting Notes: A sake brewed to be chilled or served on the rocks. Spicy and powerful on the palate, yet with surprisingly light and delicate finish, the rich umami flavours of this sake soften when it is served with ice.

Nishinoseki 1988 | 500ml
Type: Honjozo / Aged
Rice: Reihou
Polishing Ratio: 65% SMV: +4 ABV: 17%
Tasting Notes:
The thirty-year aging period of this sake has produced a dry flavour and vivid amber colour with a mouth-watering nutty aroma.

About Kayashima Brewery

Since its beginnings back in 1873, Nishinoseki brewery has been a representative brand of Kyushu - Japan's southernmost main island. Nishinoseki means 'gateway of the west', or even 'champion of the west'. Nishonoseki's sake is known for its hojun umakuchi – rich and flavourful characteristics. Nishinoseki is unique in its focus on balancing the five key tastes of sake: sweetness, sourness, pungency, bitterness, and umami (savoury). The brewery has been producing sake for over a century, always prioritizing quality and consistency of flavour.
