As the UK and Japan agree to forge a new strategic alliance, there are strong prospects for greater collaboration between the Japanese and UK higher education sectors. At the same time, the university systems in both countries face significant challenges, many of which are shared. This colloquium will bring together university leaders from Japanese and UK institutions to discuss future challenges their institutions face, and how the two countries could collaborate more effectively in their response to these challenges. The key objective of the dialogue is to support UK and Japanese universities to identify, initiate and strengthen relationships with partner institutions.
The UK visit of the Japanese delegation will continue with meetings with their counterparts at several universities on the following two days.
