This is a cultural & educational youth exchange programme between the County of Flintshire, North Wales and the town of Murata, in Miyagi prefecture, Japan. Over 168 students from high schools across the county have benefitted from the scheme over a period of 30 years. A real bond of friendship between Flintshire and Murata has developed over the years and the Flintshire Optec Japanese Youth Exchange Charitable Trust aims to continue to work in partnership with Murata Town Council to offer this life changing opportunity to as many young students as possible.
