Encouraged by the interest and curiosity that the exhibition This is MANGA – the Art of URASAWA NAOKI has elicited in our guests, Japan House London continues to explore manga with a two-hours drawing class led by international manga artist Elena VITAGLIANO.
During this workshop, participants can create their own manga page under the guidance of an award-winning mangaka while receiving instruction on basic drawing techniques grounded in references from works by the old and new masters of manga.
This workshop focuses on how to create and develop a full manga page and no previous experience is required.
At the end of the workshop, participants are asked to practice what they have learned by drawing their own manga page on thick, high-quality paper.
*Basic materials such as paper, pencils, erasers and rulers will be provided by Japan House London, although participants are welcome to bring any additional drawing equipment that they would like to use.
