A Thousand Cranes will be returning to the minka house at Kew Gardens to give performances of the story of Tanabata, through the medium of traditional kamishibai – paper board – theatre. Discover the story of two stars, separated by the Milky Way, who can only meet for a single day each year. Performances will be held twice daily, and there are a range of other Tanabata-themed events taking place throughout the bamboo garden on both days. Please note, the performances are free, but guests must pay the standard Kew admission charge to enter the botanical gardens.
This event is part of Tanabata: Celebrate the Japanese Star Festival at Kew Gardens
