Following the successful signing of the Memorandum of understanding between the Mayor of Himeji Mr Iwami and the Mayor of Conwy Cllr Samantha Cotton, The formal signing of the twinning between the two castles is due to take place in October 2019.

Work is already underway to establish relationships between the two areas for the following : Arts, music, care for older people, schools, youth groups , camera clubs, marine life, digital creativity, exhibitions, tourism and the community.
