ABTA’s annual convention ‘The Travel Convention’ is the UK travel industry’s flagship event, providing inspiration and learnings to delegates through an outstanding programme of thought-provoking content. The event has been designed to challenge the way delegates think and approach their business to help them develop and maintain a successful and sustainable travel organisation, while providing them with ample time to network with peers and experts working with the industry.

The event has established its identity as the forward-looking event in the tourism sector, providing the opportunity for ABTA’s Members and the wider industry to understand what lies ahead and to shape the travel industry of tomorrow.

Hosting the Travel Convention in Tokyo during the Rugby World Cup 2019 would be an ideal opportunity to demonstrate to the UK travel industry how Japan, with its renowned hospitality, welcomes tourists to a world-class sports event hosted by a number of cities across Japan. It allows the UK travel industry to understand Japan as a destination with enormous growth potential and to help expanding their product offerings. With more than 30 UK national and industrial journalists, this would be a great PR opportunity as well.
