Digital Drawing Workshop for Beginners

This workshop is a perfect opportunity for anyone who wants to start digital drawing, or who has just downloaded digital drawing software, or has had it already for a while and been thinking of learning the basics.

What is a Layer? What is the bucket fill tool? What is a Clipping mask?

UK-based Japanese Manga artist INKO Ai Takita, who has just published a book called "Learn Clip Studio Paint" (pictured), will introduce you to very basic digital drawing skills from sketching to inking, then colouring in step-by-step.

Attendees are also welcome to simply watch the creation process without drawing.

The instructor INKO Ai Takita is a Japanese Manga artist based in the UK. After graduating from Kyoto University of Art & Design, she moved to England and studied at Central Saint Martin’s College of Art & Design.

Tickets are £15 and must be booked before 5pm on 20 November 2021.

Suitable for digital drawing beginners of any age. (Under 8s may need an adult's supervision.)

At the end of the workshop, there is a Q&A session for you to ask your questions to INKO. This is a great opportunity to ask whatever you have been wondering about digital drawing to a professional manga artist!  As always, she will answer as many questions as possible.

Technical equipment needed for the workshop:

  1. You will need two devices (one for Zoom, one for digital drawing software ) and Wacom / a stylus ready.
  2. The digital drawing tool is already installed to your device, preferably Clip Studio Paint for more accurate terms and exact functions for workshop contents,
  3. Alternatively, Procreate, Photoshop, ibis Paint, or similar program to Clip Studio Paint is OK too.

If you prefer just to watch the lesson, you will not need a 2nd device nor a digital drawing software installed on your device.
