At the 2007 World Travel Market, held at Londons ExCel exhibition centre from November 12 to 15, Japan was represented by the Japan National Tourist Organization (JNTO) and Japanese travel experts in the fields of transport, tours and accommodation.? Supported by the Japanese Governments Visit Japan Campaign, JNTO and its fourteen co-exhibitors comprising airlines, railway operators, travel agencies and hotels promoted Japan by offering information and advice to people working in the travel industry and the media.? During the four days of the exhibition, around 2,000 people visited the Japan booth and discussed with the industry professionals there how to organise tours to Japan.? Furthermore, on the first two days ?there was a Yokoso! Japan Happy Hour, during which visitors had the opportunity to savour sushi, sake and Japanese beer.?
The JNTO London Office has no doubt that the contacts made at the World Travel Market will prove to have contributed significantly to the Visit Japan Campaigns aim of having 10 million foreign tourists visit Japan by 2010.? It is to continue its efforts to promote the attractions of Japan as a tourist destination with its forthcoming campaign Cool Japan ? Fusion with Tradition.?
