Participation call: Career Seminar - "Working for International Organisations!" (In-person and online)

The Embassy of Japan in the UK, together with European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will jointly hold the career seminar ‘Working in International Organisations!’ The seminar will introduce information on working at international organisations. This will include an introduction to the Junior Professional Officer (JPO) dispatch system. There will also be a talk from two Japanese members of staff at the EBRD, who will talk about their work at an international organisation, the rewards and challenges of working there, their job satisfaction, and information on employment and internship opportunities.
If you are interested in working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or an international organisation, please come and join us.
 
(1) Date and time: Monday 20 January 2025, 10:30-12:30 (GMT) / 19:30-21:30 (JST)
 
(2) Venue: Embassy of Japan in the UK / Simultaneous online streaming
 
(3) Target audience: People interested in working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or international organisations.
 
(4) Language: Japanese
 
(5) Participation fee: Free (prior registration required)
 
(6) Format: In-person or webinar via Microsoft Teams 
 
(7) Programme:
  1. International Organisation Job Seminar (briefer to be confirmed)
  2. EBRD employment seminar (Kazuhiko Koguchi, Secretary General, EBRD)
  3. EBRD work experience and internship introduction (Yu Hasegawa, Advisor to Executive Director for Japan, EBRD)
  4. Exchange meeting

(8) Registration:
  1. Please send your application to finance@ld.mofa.go.jp with (1) your name, (2) email address, (3) your organisation, (4) on-site participation or online participation, and (5) questions for the speakers (optional) in advance.
  2. When applying, please indicate whether you will participate on-site or online. It is not possible to participate in both.
  3. Those who are able to attend will be notified by email at least three days before the event, so please ensure that your email address is correct. 
(9) On-site participation:
  1. Only the person whose name was registered at the time of application may attend. Please note that no proxy attendance is permitted. Please bring your photo ID or passport for security purposes at the main entrance.
  2. Mobile phones and other sound-producing devices must be switched off or set to silent mode. Please note that video recording or photography is strictly prohibited in the building.
(10) Online participation:
  1. The seminar will be delivered via the webinar tool on Microsoft Teams.
  2. You can participate by accessing the website from a web browser. 
  3. Please refrain from accessing the viewing link from multiple devices and from passing on the URL to third parties.
  4. Please mute your audio and turn off your camera. If you have any comments on the day, please use the chat function.
