Update from JICC

2021/2/9
As the restrictions continue across the UK, the JICC exhibition space and library remain closed. However, this month we have two upcoming online events to announce. Firstly, we host the "The 14th Manga Jiman Awards Ceremony" on Wednesday 24 February. As part of the event, Dr Simon Grennan, Leading Research Fellow at the University of Chester and an artist in his own right, will give a talk entitled 'Yonkoma: the subtle and surprising art of stories that are hard to tell'. Secondly, on Thursday 18 March we have an online talk entitled "Reviving Yoshitoshi’s Moon: Restoration, Reprint & The Last Great Master of Ukiyo-e Woodblock Printing". In this online event Yukiko Takahashi of Takahashi Kobo will be in conversation with Dr Alfred Haft, Curator in the Department of Asia at the British Museum. Both events are free to participate in but prior registration is essential.

There are also many events being added weekly to the Japan-UK Season of Culture listings so please check the website for the the latest updates.
