Ambassador Hayashi’s attendance at the All Party Parliamentary Group on Japan Lunch
2022/6/27
On 27 June, Ambassador Hayashi attended a lunch event held by the All Party Parliamentary Group on Japan.
The event was held in-person for the first time since the Embassy co-hosted a fifth Parliament event with the group, Japanese Businesses and the UK’s Future Economy, held in 2019, nearly two and a half years ago. The lunch was attended by Mr Jeremy Hunt, the Chairman of the APPG on Japan, Mr Greg Clark, Trade Envoy to Japan, as well as members of Parliament and representatives of Japanese companies, who also enjoyed a networking opportunity.
At the event, Ambassador Hayashi talked about the importance of the partnership with the APPG on Japan, and noted the further deepening of the UK-Japan relationship in trade and investment, including the UK-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and the UK’s accession process to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement on Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), as well as development in security and defense cooperation and the collaboration in the international arena.
