Pre-Departure Reception for 2022 JET Programme Participants

On 3 August, the Embassy of Japan and Japan Local Government Centre (CLAIR London) hosted a pre-departure reception for the 2022 JET Programme participants. This was the first in-person reception since 2019 and was attended by approximately 200 people. Ambassador Hayashi gave a speech in which he offered words of encouragement to the gathering of eager young people who were about to leave for Japan.
This summer, 191 JET participants will travel from the UK to Japan, where they will work as English teaching assistants in schools or as Coordinators for International Relations (CIRs) in local governments throughout the country.
