Ambassador and Madame Hayashi's visit to Chatsworth Country Fair, Derbyshire

On 2 of September, the Ambassador and Madame Hayashi visited the Chatsworth County Fair in Derbyshire. They toured the exhibition on the partnership between Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture and Derbyshire, which has continued since 1998. They saw the Toyota GB Beyond Zero display, the ‘Visit Peak District & Derbyshire Marketplace’and Chatsworth House, which is one of the most prominent country houses in the UK. Toyota has had a vehicle manufacturing plant in Burnaston, Derbyshire since 1992.
They met with a wide range of representatives from Derbyshire, including the Duke & Duchess of Devonshire, Lord and Lady Burlington, as well as the Leader of Derbyshire County Council, Cllr Barry Lewis and other Council representatives.
As this year marks the 150th anniversary of the Iwakura Mission's visit to Chatsworth House in 1872, the deep historic and economic ties between Japan and Derbyshire were reaffirmed on this occasion.
