Ambassador's Message on the Passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
2022/9/9
Facing the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, my wife and I would like to offer our sincerest condolences to the British Royal Family, the Government and the people of the United Kingdom. Japan will always stand together with the people of the United Kingdom as they process this profound grief.
Her Majesty The Queen has reigned for 70 years, leading an open Royal Family and upholding British tradition in an era of great change. Her Majesty was deeply admired and adored, not only by the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, but also by people around the world.
I would also like to express my utmost respect and gratitude towards Her Majesty The Queen for contributing to friendly relations between Japan and the United Kingdom through her longstanding special exchanges with the Imperial Household of Japan.
I pray that Her Majesty The Queen may rest in peace.
