Ambassador Hayashi’s meeting with Professor Sir Andrew Pollard and Professor Sir John Bell at the University of Oxford

On 1 November, Ambassador HAYASHI Hajime met Professor Sir Andrew Pollard (Director of the Oxford Vaccine Group) and Professor Sir John Bell (Regius Professor of Medicine) at the University of Oxford. Through the meeting, he learned more about the policies for vaccine development at Oxford, and discussed issues with them including preparedness for future pandemics.

Ambassador Hayashi also visited the vaccine laboratory, and saw its cutting-edge systems for vaccine study and development.
