Meeting with Vaughan Gething MS, Minister for Economy of Wales
On 7 November, Ambassador Hayashi had a meeting with Vaughan Gething MS, Minister for Economy of Wales. They exchanged views on many aspects of the Japan-Wales relationship, including 50 years of economic exchange, promotion of business relations between Japan and Wales, energy and climate change.
Meeting with Jeremy Miles MS, Minister for Education and Welsh Language of Wales
On 8 November, Ambassador Hayashi met with Jeremy Miles MS, Minister for Education and Welsh Language of Wales, to discuss such topics as facilitating educational and cultural exchange between Japan and Wales.
Visit to Welsh Parliament
On 8 NovemberAmbassador Hayashi visited the Welsh Parliament. He was briefed on the history of the Welsh Parliament and environmentally friendly building of the Parliament. He also visited the plenary chamber of the Parliament.
SONY UK Technology Centre
On 8 November, Ambassador Hayashi visited SONY UK Technology Centre. He was briefed on the company’s continuing development and achievement by Rob Wilson, Managing Director of the plant. He viewed the professional Video camera and the Raspberry Pi manufacturing lines.
Visit to Princes Group Cardiff
On 8 November, Ambassador Hayashi visited Princes Group Cardiff, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation. He was briefed on the company’s ongoing development by Ian Davies, Manager of the site and he also viewed the drink manufacturing line there.
Visit to Cardiff University
On 8 November, Ambassador Hayashi visited Cardiff University. They exchanged views with Professor Rudolf Allemann, Vice-Chancellor and other faculty on the university's activities, the cooperation with Japanese academic institutions, and the contributions for the relationship between Japan and Wales.
Visit to UWC Atlantic College
On 7 November, Ambassador Hayashi visited UWC Atlantic College. He was briefed on the school's activities by Naheed Bardai, Principal of UWC Atlantic and others, and engaged with the Japanese students at the school, many of whom are being supported by the Keidanren (Japan Business Federation).
