Conclusion of Bilateral Field Training Exercise by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) and the British Army “VIGILANT ISLES 22”

On November 30, a bilateral field training exercise “Vigilant Isles 22” by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) and the British Army was concluded. In the closing ceremony of the exercise, the JGSDF Eastern Army Band and the Band of the Coldstream Guards played their respective national anthems.
Through this exercise, bilateral training units have developed their tactics, technics, and procedures on island defence, and the two countries further deepened their bilateral teamwork and mutual confidence. Such Japan-UK defence cooperation contributes to ensuring not only the security of Japan but also peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region and the international community as well as enhancing the international cooperation for global challenges.
