Ambassador Hayashi’s meeting with the Rt Hon Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP, Minister of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs (Indo-Pacific)

On 9 January, Ambassador HAYASHI Hajime had a meeting with the Rt Hon Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP, Minister of State for the Indo-Pacific in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and discussed Japan-UK cooperation in the areas of security and defence, trade and business, and climate change and energy, as well as the regional situations, in the run-up to Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio’s scheduled visit to the United Kingdom, and the Japan-UK Summit Meeting on 11 January.
Both sides agreed to strengthen the collaboration this year, as Japan has taken Presidency of the G7 and has become a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
