The Japan-UK RENKEI 10th Anniversary Event

On 28 March the Embassy of Japan, together with the British Council Tokyo, held the Japan-UK RENKEI* 10th Anniversary Event.
The proceedings began with presentations by young researchers from RENKEI member universities, followed by a keynote speech on Japan-UK collaboration in science and technology by Mr George Freeman, MP, Minister for Science, Research and Innovation.
Ambassador HAYASHI Hajime gave a speech in which he described RENKEI as a symbolic project for our close partnership in higher education, and voiced his hope that, through the RENKEI project, young researchers from both countries would pursue academic exchange leading to breakthroughs.

*The Japan-UK RENKEI Project: to meet the challenges of living in a complex, rapidly changing and globalised twenty-first century, the consortium of twelve research universities of both countries pursues stronger and deeper cooperation among their institutions through research collaboration and developing the next generation of researchers in academic area.
