Ambassador Hayashi’s attendance at Invertek Drives 25th Anniversary celebration

On 9 June, Ambassador Hayashi attended the 25th Anniversary celebration of Invertek Drives Ltd, a variable frequency drive (VFD) manufacturer headquartered in Welshpool, Wales, which has been a member of the Sumitomo Heavy Industries Group since 2019.

Ambassador Hayashi toured Invertek Drives facilities together with the Rt Hon James Cleverly MP, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs and local Member of Parliament, Mr Craig Williams, who were also invited to attend the celebration. At the ceremony he congratulated the company and was invited to officially open the new Application and Training Centre.

In his remarks, Ambassador Hayashi said that Intertek’s success is an excellent example for other Japanese companies in Wales, and the UK as a whole, and is highly regarded in terms of their contribution to a greener, more sustainable environment and better future. Ambassador stressed that the relationship between the two companies is in line with the spirit of the Japan - UK Hiroshima Accord, signed by Prime Minister Kishida and Prime Minister Sunak on the occasion of the G7 Hiroshima Summit, and that he looks forward to further success for both companies in the future.
